Confederate Islands

The Confederate Islands is a multinational organization of island-countries throughout the Thessonia ocean. While each member is in and of itself a sovereign nation, its members can very easily interact with, ask support from or support one another. This is especially true during times of trouble such as war or calamity.

THE CONFEDERATE COUNCIL

The Confederate Islands have no actual leader as each island-country has its own government but the Confederate Council serves as a kind of guide to all the leaders of its constituents. Sometimes, they are warmly welcomed in the island-countries but are sometimes hated for “meddling” in the affairs of local politics. Still, those nations blessed with a Councilor can count on the aid of the Confederal Military when needed which is a huge boon to island-countries that are in disputed territory or are prone to disasters like typhoons and earthquakes.

THE CONFEDERAL MILITARY

To defend its interests and to maintain peace and order among its members the Confederate Council has power over the Confederal Military which it can use to make displays of force to put a decisive end to violence. The Confederal Military is often comprised of personnel and ships provided by each of the Confederate Islands’ constituents. By law, each member island-country must provide at least 10% of its military assets to the Confederal Military. The largest contributors of military personnel, equipment and ships however are Affiliated Provinces of Ormland, Venadon and Valmoren.

THE CONFEDERATE ISLANDS AND ILMARITH CITY

The headquarters of the Confederate Islands is Ilmarith City. A tiny speck among the countless islands of Thessonia, Ilmarith City is nonetheless one of the most wealthy and beautiful of all the Confederate Islands. It is more or less considered the political counterpart to Ephelron City, center of the Confederate Island’s spiritual leadership.
